A new Code of Laws for cricket came into force on 1st October 2017.
MCC has provided an “e-learning”, that is, an on line learning resource, that can be accessed by Clicking here. This gives aspiring umpires – and anyone else interested in studying The Laws of Cricket – the chance to learn at their own pace. This resource is complemented by optional on line tests that can lead to the award of certificates of attainment. This has enabled SACO to focus its face-to-face training on how to apply, in a practical sense, the Laws.
Use of the MCC on line resource is highly recommended to experienced umpires and to anyone intending to undertake any of SACO’s face-to-face training courses.
A new suite of training courses for umpires was rolled out across the country early in 2018. Stages One, Two, Three and Four. Click here for all the available information about the courses.
