The ACO is keen that all officials (Umpires and Scorers) can develop to their full potential. To help achieve this the process of Educating and Training Umpires and Scorers has a number of aspects:
- There are both E-learning and Face-to-Face components and options.
- Acknowledgement of training is split into Attendance and Accreditation, each of which has a separate certification of completion. The former being simply undertaking the training with no need to pass an examination, the latter being being evidence based and monitoring of practical performance.
- Once accreditation has been achieved further development can be achieved with mentoring and performance monitoring.
MCC has provided an “e-learning” resource, that can be accessed by Clicking here which gives aspiring umpires – and anyone else interested in studying The Laws of Cricket – the chance to learn at their own pace. This resource is complemented by optional on line tests that can lead to the award of certificates of attainment.
